26 families displaced in Cavite fire

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — At least 26 families or about 100 people lost their homes in a fire that occurred in Bacoor, Cavite at past midnight yesterday.

The blaze, which broke out at around 12:36 a.m., destroyed a row of houses along F. Arciaga street in Sitio Tabing Ilog, Barangay Molino 2.

The fire reached second alarm before it was declared under control at around 2 a.m.

It reportedly originated in a house owned by Janine Rose Lunday and quickly spread to adjacent structure made of light materials, according to C/Insp. Jude Sumegang, ground commander of the Bureau of Fire and Protection.

No one was reported injured or killed in the incident.

Investigation is ongoing.
