Cop dies in road mishap

SISON, Pangasinan, Philippines — A police officer died after his motorcycle hit a pedestrian in this town yesterday.

Cpl. Marc Jayson de Guzman, 29, of the Pozorrubio police station in this province, was on his way home when he hit Hedalgo Potpotan, 51, in Barangay Paldit.

The impact threw De Guzman off the motorcycle. He was declared dead on arrival at the Pozorrubio Community Hospital, according to investigating officer Senior M/Sgt. Norman Buayan. 

Potpotan was brought to the Baguio General Hospital for treatment of injuries.
