7 drug suspects held in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines — Seven persons were arrested in Caloocan City for alleged possession of an estimated P1 million worth of shabu on Tuesday.

The suspects were nabbed by operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) during a sting in Barangay 165.

Mark Anthony Santos, 23; Philip Wayne Matthews, 22; Bert Mangampo, 44; Custodia Carnasa, 35; Ricky Arquiza, 33; Eddie Bon Alardo, 29, and Cherielyn Dianan, 18, allegedly yielded around 150 grams of shabu.

QCPD director Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo said the suspects were nabbed after they reportedly sold shabu for P7,500 to a police officer who posed as a buyer.

Police said they also confiscated handguns from the suspects.

In Quezon City, at least P204,000 worth of shabu was seized from a suspected drug pusher.

Diana Jeane Brosas, 42, allegedly yielded around 30 grams of shabu during a sting in Barangay Salvacion.

More than P350,000 worth of drugs were confiscated by police from four suspects during anti-narcotics operations in the cities of Pasay and Las Piñas.

The suspects are being held by police on drug charges.
