3 nabbed for P102 million shabu in Cavite
MANILA, Philippines — An estimated P102 million worth of shabu was recovered by anti-narcotics agents from three suspected drug traffickers in Bacoor City, Cavite on Thursday afternoon.
Around 15 kilos of shabu stuffed in “Guanyinwang” brand tea bags were seized from Ronnie Menodiado, Victorio Najera and Annie Rose Lingua, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The suspects were arrested during a sting at the corner of Molino Boulevard and Aguinaldo Highway in Barangay Talaba 4.
PDEA chief Aaron Aquino tagged Menodiado as allegedly a top shabu supplier in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon).
The suspects were included in the PDEA drug watchlist, Aquino said.
“The suspects are frequenting colleges and universities. We are still investigating if they are selling drugs to college students,” Aquino said at a press conference at the PDEA office in Quezon City.
Menodiado’s group was also allegedly distributing drugs in Metro Manila and Zamboanga City.
The operation was an offshoot of a March 3 drug bust in Barangay Molino 3 in Bacoor where PDEA operatives confiscated at least P13.6 million worth of shabu from Junior Utto and his wife.
