Quakes rock Albay, Davao

ALBAY , Philippines — Earthquakes hit parts of Albay and Davao Occidental over the weekend, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said yesterday.

A magnitude-2.9 quake occurred four kilometers northeast of Santo Domingo town in Albay at 1:51 a.m. yesterday. It was felt at Intensity 2.

Meanwhile, quakes with magnitudes ranging from 4 to 4.8, rocked Davao Occidental since Saturday night.

The latest of these quakes was a magnitude-4.6, which occurred at 12:29 a.m. yesterday. The quake’s epicenter was located some 126 km southeast of Sarangani. 

The temblors in Davao Occidental were unfelt, Phivolcs said, adding no damage or injuries were recorded from the quakes.
