2 cops wounded in NPA ambush

SAN NARCISO, Quezon, Philippines  – Two police officers were wounded in an ambush by suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Barangay San Juan in this town yesterday.

Pat. Millan Kenn Parco and Kennedy Piamonte were taken to a hospital for treatment, Capt. Hubert Reuben Jabrica, town police chief, said in his report.

Meanwhile, NPA rebels Finela Cavero and an alias Goyo, said to be the deputy secretary of the Kilusang Laragan Guerrilla Unor, were killed in an encounter with soldiers of the 81st Infantry Battalion in Barangay Namatican, Sta. Lucia, Ilocos Sur on Thursday. 

In Cagayan de Oro City, the military said an NPA rebel was killed in a clash in Barangay Bisigan on Wednesday.
