Magnitude 4 quake shakes Davao Sur

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4 earthquake shook parts of Mindanao yesterday. 

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said no damage or aftershocks were expected from the quake, which struck eight kilometers southwest of Sulop, Davao del Sur at around 1:51 a.m. 

Instrumental Intensity 4 was recorded in Tupi, South Cotabato; Intensity 3 in Malungon, Sarangani; Intensity 2 Kidapawan City and Koronodal City, and Intensity 1 in Alabel, Sarangani.

Phivolcs said instrumental intensity measures shaking as recorded by an instrument called intensity meter.
