2 slain in Calabarzon shootings
MANILA, Philippines — A construction worker and an electrician were killed in separate shootings in Cavite and Batangas, respectively, on Saturday.
Bernardo Briones was walking at the Kanggahan Elementary School in Barangay Cabuco, Trece Martires, when the suspect approached him at around 4:50 p.m.
Without provocation, the suspect, identified as Jay-Ar Salazar, reportedly pulled out a gun and shot Briones several times.
Briones died at the scene due to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.
Probers recovered bullet shells for a .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.
Meanwhile, in Batangas, Miguel Rodriguez, 60, was allegedly shot dead by his friend, identified as Arnold Andal, 39, in San Jose town.
Reports said the victim and the suspect were having a drinking session in Barangay Lumil when a quarrel broke out between them.
Andal reportedly pulled out a gun and shot the victim several times before fleeing.
