MANILA, Philippines — Two Thai women were arrested and P25.2 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu seized in separate stings in Makati and Pasay on Thursday.

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)’s Calabarzon office confiscated three kilos of shabu, valued at P24 million, from Kanokrat Jampangoen, 36, during a sting in her unit at the Artemis Place condominium in Barangay Palanan, Makati at around 1:30 p.m.

Jampangoen, reportedly a member of a West African drug syndicate, arrived in the country on Jan. 20 and had been staying at the unit prior to her arrest, PDEA said.

PDEA agents and Pasay police officers arrested Narumon Sukkato, 30, during another sting in a restaurant at a mall on Thursday afternoon.

Police said Sukkato carried a sachet containing 200 grams of shabu, valued at P1.2 million, in her purse.
