Blackout hits 3 Isabela towns as truck rams electric post

TUGUEGARAO CITY,  Cagayan, Philippines – A power outage hit three towns in Isabela after a wayward truck rammed an electric post in Barangay Villapaz in Naguilian town on Thursday.

The truck hit two houses then crashed into an electric post of the Isabela Electric Cooperative.

No one was reported hurt, but residents of Naguilian, Benito Soliven and San Mariano experienced power interruption.

Truck driver Lemar Viernes said he lost control of the wheel when the vehicle experienced mechanical problem.

Viernes and his four helpers were arrested not only for the accident but also for carrying illegally cut  logs.
