Man hacks to death wife, son in Basilan
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — A man said to be suffering from depression allegedly killed his wife and son and wounded his two other children in a hacking incident in Tipo-Tipo, Basilan on Monday, police said.
Saliha Malik and her son Adam were declared dead on arrival in a hospital.
Police said the children were preparing to go to school at about 5 a.m. when the suspect, Jailul Hakanun Malik, armed with an ax, hacked his wife and son for no apparent reason.
Malik also allegedly used a knife to stab his two other children. He was arrested by responding police officers.
