P1 billion housing for poor to rise in San Juan

Jose Rodel Clapano - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A 22-story, in-city mass housing project for the poor amounting to P1 billion will be built in San Juan City, Mayor Francis Zamora said over the weekend.

Zamora said the project, which will rise along Manalo street in Barangay Batis, would be funded by the National Housing Authority.

“We will have the ground-breaking for the project soon. It is the second phase of our in-city mass housing program,” he said.

It will be composed of 516 housing units, which will be made available to qualified residents of San Juan, Zamora said.

The first phase of the project located in Barangay St. Joseph was funded by the Department of Public Works and Highways.

Zamora thanked President Duterte for supporting his housing program.
