Quakes rock Batangas, Sultan Kudarat

MANILA, Philippines — Earthquakes of magnitudes-3.3 and 2.4 rocked parts of Batangas and Sultan Kudarat, respectively, yesterday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.

The first quake occurred at 7:25 a.m. eight kilometers southwest of Talisay, Batangas.

It was felt at Intensity 1 in Barangay Pira-piraso, located in the northeastern part of Taal Volcano Island.

The second quake occurred at 4:21 p.m. nine km southeast of Columbio, Sultan Kudarat. It was felt at Intensity 2 in Kidapawan City.
