Typhoon Ursula weakens, exits PAR
MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Ursula weakened and exited the Philippine area of responsibility yesterday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the center of Ursula was located 595 kilometers west of Subic, Zambales as of 10 a.m. yesterday.
With maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph, the typhoon is moving west-southwest at 10 kph.
PAGASA said Ursula is no longer affecting the country.
However, the tail-end of a cold front will bring scattered light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms over the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley and Aurora.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA said sea travel is risky, especially for small seacraft, over the seaboard of Northern Luzon due to rough seas caused by the surge of the northeast monsoon.
