15 Chinese held in raids on sex dens
MANILA, Philippines — Fifteen Chinese were arrested and 17 women rescued during raids on two sex dens reportedly catering to Chinese employees of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) last week, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) announced yesterday.
Twelve women were rescued while Zhi Peng, Liu Fei, and Sun Li Guan were caught in the raid on a hotel along Zapote Road in Almanza, Las Piñas on Dec. 11, said Vicente de Guzman III, NBI deputy director for investigative services.
The raids were staged after the NBI received a tip that a group of men were selling Chinese women online for sex using Chinese apps.
On Dec. 13, the NBI received another tip – Chinese prostitutes were being booked through a mobile application called “Telegram” and the sex den was located in a three-story building on Crispina Avenue in Las Piñas.
Twelve Chinese – nine men and three women – were arrested while five women were rescued.
De Guzman said the price for a 60-minute sexual encounter with the women ranges from P6,000 to P18,000.
The suspects were charged with human trafficking.
