3 rob suspects slain in Bulacan ‘shootout’
MALOLOS, Philippines — Three suspected robbers were killed in an alleged shootout with police officers in Pandi, Bulacan on Sunday night.
The officers were patrolling in Barangay Poblacion when they saw three men on a motorcycle at around 8:45 p.m., according to Col. Emma Libunao, Bulacan police director.
The lawmen signaled the men to pull over, but the suspects sped away, prompting the officers to pursue them.
The suspects reportedly drew their guns and opened fire at the pursuing officers, triggering a firefight that resulted in their deaths.
No one among the officers were wounded or killed in the firefight.
Probers said they recovered a revolver, pistol, grenade, wristwatch and P540 cash from the suspects whom police have yet to identify. – With Emmanuel Tupas
