Elderly man dies in Pasig road mishap
MANILA, Philippines — An octogenarian man died yesterday after he was hit by a motorcycle while crossing the street in Pasig City.
Ombao Osias, 81, suffered massive injuries and died while being treated at the Rizal Medical Center.
The motorcycle driver, Bryan Pimentel, also suffered injuries and was brought to the hospital.
A police report said Osias was crossing C. Raymundo Avenue in Barangay Caniogan when he was struck by the Suzuki motorcycle driven by Pimentel at around 5:30 a.m.
Pimentel was thrown off his motorcycle due to the impact, according to Ariel Maraño of the Pasig City Traffic and Parking Management Office.
Rescuers rushed Osias and Pimentel to the hospital, but Osias died two hours later.
Police said charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide would be filed against Pimentel.
