Trader gunned down
MANILA, Philippines — A 45-year-old businessman was shot dead in San Pablo, Laguna on Saturday.
The victim, identified as Edison Martinez, was having breakfast in an eatery in Barangay San Jose when the assailant arrived at around 7:30 a.m.
The assailant reportedly pulled out a gun and shot Martinez several times without provocation.
Martinez was declared dead on arrival in a nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, a vendor was wounded in an attack at their home in Lipa City, Batangas yesterday.
Delia Magno was preparing to sleep when she heard someone knocking at the door.
Magno told probers she opened the door to a man she identified as Ronie Torres, who reportedly pulled out a gun and shot her in the abdomen.
Relatives brought Magno to a hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.
Probers have yet to determine the motive for the attack
