Makati offers 10% discount for early taxpayers

MAKATI, Philippines —  Taxpayers in Makati City who would pay their real property taxes earlier than the Jan. 20, 2020 deadline will get a 10 percent discount, Mayor

Abby Binay said yesterday.

The city government would also give a five-percent discount to taxpayers who would settle their taxes earlier than the quarterly deadlines, which would fall on the 20th day of January, April, July and October.

It would impose an eight-percent penalty on annual real property tax payments made after March and a two-percent penalty on late quarterly payments.

The city government also called on businesses to renew their permits and pay their corresponding taxes early.
