1,142 Cagayan Valley cops promoted
SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela, Philippines — At least 1,142 police officers in Cagayan Valley were promoted to the next higher rank on Monday.
One was promoted to lieutenant colonel, eight to major, four to captain, 18 to lieutenants, 281 to master sergeants, 152 to chief master sergeants, 270 to senior master sergeants, 300 to master sergeants, 97 to staff sergeants and 11 to corporals.
Col. Chevalier Iringan, regional police information officer, said the police officers underwent a series of interviews and examinations conducted by the promotion board.
“You are promoted because your work is greatly appreciated... work that... comes with great responsibility... Promotions... mean more responsibilities, tighter deadlines and bigger targets... Do not attach the word privilege in your rank, instead focus on the responsibility that it carries,” Brig. Gen. Angelito Casimiro, regional police director, said during the oathtaking of the police officers.
