Bomb plot foiled in North Cotabato

MAGUINDANAO, Philippines — Soldiers of the 57th Infantry Battalion foiled an attempt of the Dawlah Islamiya terror group, also known as the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF), to sabotage the Sinugba Festival in Midsayap, North Cotabato on Sunday.

The military said soldiers seized bomb materials and two improvised explosive devices at the hideout of  the BIFF in Barangay Inaladan in Shariff Saidona, Maguindanao on Saturday.  

Soldiers said they also found chemicals used to make bombs at the abandoned BIFF lair.
