MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is looking for ways to permanently stop vandals from defacing public places in Manila, an official said yesterday.

Despite a threat by Mayor Isko Moreno to have the vandals to lick the graffiti clean, NCRPO chief Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas said the vandals struck again, this time targeting a public school.

Sinas said he directed Brig. Gen. Bernabe Balba, Manila Police District director, to increase police visibility in areas where vandals would most likely strike.

“We noted that the vandals usually strike when nobody is watching,” he said during a press briefing.

Activist group Panday Sining claimed responsibility for the graffiti on the walls of the Lagusnilad underpass last week.
