Lawrence Agcaoili, Rudy Santos, Ralph Edwin Villanueva - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — More than 3,000 workers were evacuated from the Philippine National Bank building along Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City yesterday afternoon.

The country’s fifth largest lender in terms of assets, owned by tobacco and airline magnate Lucio Tan, said it received a bomb threat at the 12-story PNB Financial Center at around 2:15 p.m., prompting an immediate evacuation of the building.

The building also houses the main office of national flag carrier Philippine Airlines, whose workers were also evacuated.

The building was declared safe at around 4:30 p.m. after police bomb experts found no bomb, PNB said.
