Shabu, ‘pot’ seized in Cavite stings

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines  – Two kilos of dried marijuana leaves and 150 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P.7 million were seized from three drug suspects following separate stings in Cavite over the weekend.

Rolando Rapada, 54, and his companion Anes Alberto, 30, allegedly sold two kilos of marijuana to an undercover agent in Barangay Talaba 6, Bacoor, according to Col. Marlon Santos, Cavite police chief.

Meanwhile, Joemar Guialuson, 22, was arrested after he sold shabu to undercover officers in Barangay San Francisco, General Trias yesterday.     

Mild quake rocks Cotabato

A magnitude-3.8 earthquake rocked Tulunan town in Cotabato yesterday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The quake occurred 23 kilometers northeast of Tulunan at 6:15 a.m. It was felt at Intensity 4 in Kidapawan City.

Phivolcs said no damage or aftershocks were expected from the quake.

It said the temblor was related to the strong quakes that hit Mindanao last month.
