Man slain in shootout with cops after killing wife

BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan, Philippines  – A man was killed in an alleged shootout with police officers in Barangay San Gabriel in this town on Friday.

Rosendo Panaman, 47, who was accused of killing his wife Marivic, 42, shot responding police officers, Capt. Allan Abuan of the Bayambang police station told The STAR.

Initial investigation showed that Rosendo hacked to death Marivic following an argument.

The 15-year-old son of the couple sought help from their neighbors, who called the police.

The couple were declared dead on arrival at the Bayambang District Hospital.
