MANILA, Philippines — Three alleged drug traffickers were arrested during a sting in Tondo, Manila that yielded at least 850 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P5.7 million before dawn yesterday.

Anowar Mocamad, Tato Amiril and Fatima Garcia were presented to media by Manila Police District (MPD) chief Brig. Gen. Bernabe Balba.

The suspects were listed by police as high-value drug targets from Mindanao who allegedly shifted their operations to Manila, according to Balba.

MPD Station 1 commander Col. Christopher Navida said the suspects’ arrest came after months of surveillance.

Police said they recovered from the suspects P16,000 in marked money and three cell phones.  

In Quezon City, agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated at least P3.4 million worth of shabu from a suspected drug pusher.

Roselle Bolivar, 23, was arrested after she allegedly sold drugs to a police officer who posed as a buyer at the parking lot of a shopping mall in Barangay Pasong Putik.

Joel Plaza, director of the PDEA National Capital Region, said they recovered around 500 grams of shabu placed in transparent plastic bags from Bolivar.

Bolivar is being held by police on charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Four other drug suspects were nabbed for alleged possession of eight grams of shabu valued at P54,400 during a sting in Barangay Baesa.

They were Renato Sabino, 35; Russel Santillan, 30; Kimberly Simeon, 27, and Mirasol Armea, 25.

Col. Ronnie Montejo, acting director of the Quezon City Police District, said the suspects were among the 22 persons arrested for drug-related offenses in Quezon City in the past two days.

In Pasig City, suspected drug pushers Rolando Calapi, 70, and  Ernesto Calapi, 66, were collared in an anti-narcotics operation in Barangay Kapasigan.

Parañaque’s most wanted falls

Meanwhile, the number one most wanted person in Parañaque City was apprehended by police on Tuesday night.

Rock Daniel Diocareza, 38, was nabbed in a drug sting along Tramo Uno street in Barangay San Dionisio.

Police said Diocareza has pending arrest warrants for at least eight crimes.
