3 dead in Olongapo fire

OLONGAPO CITY, Philippines — A couple and their two-year-old son died when a  fire razed a four-story commercial building in this city yesterday morning.

The bodies of Mariano Panganiban, his wife Aira and their two-year-old son Ricardo were recovered on the fourth floor of the building along Rizal Avenue in Barangay West Bajac-Bajac.

The fire, which started at around 5 a.m. was declared out at around 8 a.m.

Initial reports showed the fire started on the first floor.

Two families were also left homeless due to the blaze.

Damage to property was estimated at P4 million.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
