Manhunt on for 6 Chinese in gang rape

Ralph Edwin Villanueva - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Makati City police has launched a manhunt for six Chinese men for allegedly raping five Chinese women in September.

One of the victims, a 24-year-old waitress, went to the city police headquarters at past midnight yesterday to file charges against Xiao Ming Wei and five other unidentified men, according to a spot report.

The waitress told police she and four other Chinese women were walking near a high-end casino in Pasay City before dawn on Sept. 9 when Xiao and the others kidnapped them and brought them to a condominium unit in Makati’s central business district, where they were allegedly raped.

The report did not state what happened to the four other women.

Police said charges of rape and kidnapping may be filed against Xiao and the five men.
