Roads closed for weekend repairs

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways closed several roads in Metro Manila starting last night to allow for weekend repairs.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said the following roads are closed for repair and reblocking: EDSA Camp Crame Gate to Annapolis street (beside MRT), EDSA after Muñoz to Bansalangin street and G. Araneta Bayanin intersection.

Also closed to motorists are Quirino Highway Nightingale to Zabarte Road (inner lane), General Luis street from Samonte street to SB Road, Elliptical Road after Maharlika street (sixth lane from outer sidewalk); A. Bonifacio Avenue near Marvex Drive, Katipunan Avenue/C-5  after CP Garcia street in front of UP Town Center (truck lane), EDSA after Aurora Boulevard to New York street, Congressional Avenue Extension corner Luzon Avenue and after Tandang Sora Avenue, Luzon Avenue before Congressional Avenue Extension and R. Magsaysay Boulevard after Magsaysay Bridge going to Quiapo.

The roads will be passable by 5 a.m. on Monday, the MMDA said.

The agency advised motorists to take alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.
