Chavit elected new LMP president

ILOCOS SUR, Philippines — Mayor Luis ”Chavit” Singson of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur is the new head of the League of Municipalities (LMP) of the Philippines.

Singson ran unopposed in the elections held at the New World Hotel in Makati City on Wednesday. He replaced Mayor Maria Fe Brondial of Socorro, Oriental Mindoro. 

Singson said among his priority projects is free WiFi in all towns across the country. He said the provision of free WiFi is being tested in his town.

He said he would also push for common telecommunications towers in select towns across the country with recommendation for accreditation from mayors.
