CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga , Philippines — More toll booths for vehicles with radio frequency identification (RFID) will be set up along the North and South Luzon expressways as well as on the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) to better manage the expected surge of traffic volume during All Saints and Souls’ Days.

The Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. said it would also increase the number of toll booths for RFID-equipped vehicles at the Bocaue and Balintawak exits.

Construction activities along the North and South Luzon expressways would be suspended until Nov. 4, except when repairs are necessary for the safety of motorists, according to Romulo Quimbo, Metro Pacific senior vice president for communications.

On Friday, more traffic  personnel were deployed along the expressways to monitor and manage traffic in Balintawak, Mindanao Avenue, Bocaue, Sta. Ines, Tarlac and Tipo toll plazas.

From Oct. 26 to Nov. 2, the Balintawak toll plaza will open 24 collection points.

Mindanao Avenue, Tarlac and Tipo toll plazas will open 10, 15 and six collection points, respectively, to lessen waiting time of motorists.

Quimbo said from Nov. 1 to 4, the Bocaue toll barrier would have 55 collection points for motorists heading for Manila.
