Drug suspect shot dead; P150 million shabu seized

MANILA, Philippines –A suspected drug pusher, who was also tagged in contract killings, was killed in a sting in Laguna on Thursday.

Percibal Mendoza was a member of the Macma Punio gang, which operates in Pila, Pagsanjan and Sta. Cruz  towns, according to Col. Eleazar Matta, Laguna police director.

In Samar, two kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P150 million were seized at a checkpoint in Barangay Bunagan, Gandara at around 4:30 p.m., also on Thursday.

The illegal drugs were found in a Mitsubishi Lancer and a Nissan Sentra.

 The drivers and passengers of the vehicles – Cesar Uy, Jarred Axcel Elaran, Steven Abella and Jeralou Ylaborte–  were arrested.
