MANILA, Philippines – Four women were rescued yesterday from a spa allegedly operating as a sex den in Quezon City.

Mayor Joy Belmonte ordered the closure of Dragon Spa along E. Rodriguez Avenue.

A customer, identified as Dennis Ayo Mendoza, and cashier Charmain Punzalan were arrested during the raid on the spa at around 2 p.m.

Police said customers could book appointments on a website that featured images of the spa’s therapists.

Punzalan faces charges of human trafficking in relation to the anti-cybercrime law while Mendoza may be charged with violating a local ordinance penalizing prostitution.
