Paco fire leaves 20 families homeless
MANILA, Philippines — At least 20 families were left homeless when a fire broke out at a slum area in Paco, Manila yesterday morning.
Arson probers said the fire, which started at past 6 a.m., reached the second alarm before it was declared under control at around 7 a.m.
The blaze quickly spread to other shanties along Gen. Luna street in Paco.
No one was reported injured in the incident.
Authorities said they have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
Damage to property was estimated at P50,000.
The affected residents asked Manila Mayor Isko Moreno for assistance.
