Worker stabbed over bad joke

MANILA, Philippines — A construction worker was beaten and stabbed by four men over a bad joke in Marikina City over the weekend.

Ace Win Bautista, 24, suffered four stab wounds. Bystanders rushed him to the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

A police report said Bautista and Victor Carullo, 29, a steelman, were drinking in front of a store along Sitaw street in Barangay Tumana at around 6 a.m.

On his way home, Bautista greeted one of the suspects with a bad joke and ran away.

Irked, the suspect along with his three cohorts chased Bautista.

When cornered, the suspects repeatedly stabbed the victim before fleeing.

Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
