Security guard held for attempt to rob bank

LAGUNA, Philippines — A security guard was arrested for attempting to rob a bank that he was guarding in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna on Monday.

Romeo Dimaano Jr. of Delta Maroon Security Agency was collared at the Prestige Bank in Barangay Tagapo.

Witnesses said Dimaano declared a holdup at around 9 a.m and asked a bank teller to put money in his bag.

A bank teller and a client managed to seek police assistance.

The suspect reportedly told police he needed money to buy a house.
