Belmonte junks traffic enforcer’s application

MANILA, Philippines – Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has junked the application of an aspiring traffic enforcer after he was seen on a viral video attacking a motorist.

She said she rejected the application of Danilo Usi, who was waiting for the approval of his application as a traffic enforcer of the city government but had been deployed after completing a seminar.

Usi was caught on video hitting a motorist whose vehicle had a flat tire.

Belmonte reprimanded the city’s traffic czar, Ariel Inton, for his apparent failure to ensure that his enforcers stand the test of character and integrity.

She reminded public servants to maintain the people’s trust and provide the service that they deserve.

She also underscored the need for traffic enforcers to undergo intensive training, which includes the proper handling of conflicts and anger management.
