Man held for attempt to kidnap girl, 9

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — A 32-year-old man was arrested in this city on Wednesday for allegedly trying to kidnap a nine-year-old girl.

Bicholson Pensa reportedly saw the girl outside a mall and promised to take her home.

A passenger of a motorela that Pensa and the victim rode sought the assistance of village watchmen when she noticed that the girl was crying.

Maj. Ian Borinaga of the city police station 4 said Pensa faces charges of kidnapping in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
