21 San Juan barangays get free WiFi

MANILA, Philippines — Free WiFi hotspots will be set up in 21 barangays in San Juan City, Mayor Francis Zamora announced yesterday.

Zamora and Secretary Gregorio Honasan of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) will sign a memorandum of agreement for the project at the city hall today.

There will also be a ceremonial switching on of the WiFI signal, Zamora said.

San Juan is the pilot city for the DICT’s free WiFi project.

Zamora said free internet connectivity would be set up at city hall, barangay halls, barangay multi-purpose centers, basketball courts, public schools, San Juan Medical Center, city public market, police stations and other public areas.

The mayor thanked the DICT for putting up free WiFi in San Juan.
