Motorcycle theft suspect killed by cop

MANILA, Philippines — A man was killed while his cohort was arrested after they allegedly attempted to steal the motorcycle of a policeman in Las Piñas City yesterday.

Cpl. Eric Jone Ambat was on his motorcycle along Tionquiao street in Barangay Manuyo Dos at around 1:30 p.m. when the suspects identified as Mico Pernia and Jayson Victoriano, alias Tisoy, blocked his path.

The suspects tried to seize Ambat’s motorcycle.

The policeman fired at the suspects, killing Victoriano at the scene.

Pernia escaped but was arrested by responding policemen.
