Batangas police intel chief shot dead
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Lagun, Philippines — The head of the intelligence unit of the police in Alitagtag, Batangas was gunned down in Taal town on Monday.
The body of Chief M/Sgt. Robert Arriola and his motorcycle were recovered in Barangay Bihis.
Arriola’s firearm was seized from a certain Dexter Mendoza and Rodolfo Caraos, who were arrested in a follow-up operation.
Capt. Hazel Luma-Ang, Batangas police spokesperson, said initial investigation showed that Arriola drove past the area where the suspects were having a drinking spree.
Luma-Ang said the suspects thought Arriola was monitoring them and opened fire.
A manhunt for the two other suspects identified as Nonimar Zarra and Jaypee Caraos is ongoing.
