4 held for robbing Korean

MANILA, Philippines — Four men, two of them teenagers, were arrested in Malate, Manila yesterday morning for allegedly robbing a South Korean man.

Niel Gilbert, 18; Allen Navarro, 18; Donato Velasquez, 20; and Kenneth Casas, 21, were apprehended after Lim Chaehoon sought police assistance at around 2:30 a.m.

Chaehoon, a freelance tour guide, was walking with his girlfriend along Bocobo street when the suspects, who were riding a motorcycle, grabbed his cell phone.

Police officers on patrol gave chase and caught up with the suspects, according to Manila Police District Station 5 commander Lt. Col. Igmedio Bernaldez.

Velasquez and Casas admitted to being responsible for robberies in the Malate area and being in and out of prison.
