P80-million shabu found in abandoned boat

PALAUIG, Zambales, Philippines — At least 10 kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P80 million were found in a boat that was left abandoned near the waters off Barangay Locloc in this town on Friday.

Village chief Eddie Aurelio sought the help of the local police after residents informed him that a boat was spotted in the area.

Responding personel of the Palauig police, Zambales Maritime police and Philippine Coast Guard found five  packs of shabu, each weighing two kilos; a pack of cigarettes with Chinese markings and other items in the boat.

Authorities also found a black motorcycle parked along the shore near where the boat was discovered.

Probers have yet to identify the owner of the boat.– With Ric Sapnu
