MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has issued proclamations declaring special non-working local holidays.

Yesterday was a special non-working day in Iriga, Camarines Sur in commemoration of the town’s 51st founding anniversary.

Today is a holiday in Monkayo, Compostela Valley for the 24th Kariyawan Festival and the celebration of its 65th anniversary.

It is a non-working holiday in General Santos City tomorrow, which will celebrate its 52nd Inauguration Day and 21st Tuna Festival.

On Sept. 13, it will be a special non-working holiday in the Cordilleras in commemoration of the anniversary of 1986 peace agreement with the Cordillera People’s Liberation Army led by rebel priest Conrado Balweg.

The accord is the first peace agreement signed during the administration of the late president Corazon Aquino.

It is also a special non-working holiday on Sept. 21 in San Mateo, Rizal. The town will celebrate its 448th anniversary. – Artemio Dumlao
