Woman stabbed dead in motel
MANILA, Philippines — A woman was stabbed to death in a motel in Tondo, Manila yesterday morning.
Police have yet to identify the fatality, who died at the scene from more than 20 stab wounds.
Capt. Henry Navarro, homicide section chief of the Manila Police District, said their investigation showed that the woman and her male companion checked into the room of the Safety Motel at the corner of Mabuhay and Moriones streets along Road-10 at around 5:35 a.m.
Probers said the two had been in the room for only about five minutes when the victim rushed outside bloodied and asking for help.
Motel employee Ma. Teresa Bersano said she met the suspect on the hallway.
Bersano asked her co-employees to stop the suspect from fleeing but to no avail.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who was caught on closed-circuit television footage sporting a cap.
