Roxas Boulevard closed to traffic
MANILA, Philippines — Portions of Roxas Boulevard in Manila will be closed to traffic from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m. today to give way to a fun run organized by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
Motorists have been advised that the southbound and northbound lanes of Roxas Boulevard from P. Burgos to EDSA will be closed to all types of vehicles.
Based on a schedule released yesterday, the event will start with a zumba session and other pre-run activities.
The start for the 10-kilometer category will be at 5 a.m.; 5:10 a.m. for the five-kilometer, and 5:25 a.m. for the three-kilometer category.
With the start and finish lines located at the Quirino Grandstand, participants will run through the southbound and northbound stretch of the boulevard, with the farthest point at the Le Pavillon Events Hall.
Some 17,000 runners are expected to join the CSC’s “Race to Serve Fun Run.”
Serving as the official kickoff activity for the month-long Philippine Civil Service anniversary celebration this month, the event aims to raise funds for the Pamanang Lingkod Bayani, a program that provides financial assistance and scholarship for the heirs of civil servants who died in the line of duty.
The CSC said the activity aims to promote healthy lifestyle and encourage friendly competition and camaraderie among public servants.
