7 drug suspects slain in Central Luzon
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — Seven drug suspects were killed in alleged encounters with police officers in Central Luzon over the weekend.
The fatalities were identified as Ronnie Bernardino, an alias Gerald, Edwin Quindara, Glendry Sevilla, Jerome Jecoste, John Lagmay and Roger Taghap.
Bernardino and Gerald were killed in separate stings in Meycauayan and San Jose del Monte, both in Bulacan, respectively.
Probers recovered a pistol, shotgun, 16 plastic sachets containing shabu and marked money from the suspects, Col. Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, said.
In Tarlac, Quindara and Sevilla reportedly drew their guns after sensing they were dealing with undercover agents, according to Col. Rhoderick Armamento, deputy regional director for operations of the Cental Luzon police.
Jecoste and Lagmay were killed in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, while Taghap in Mabalacat, Pampanga.
