MANILA, Philippines — Two persons were killed in separate shootings in Taguig and Manila on Monday.

Emilyn Prudente, 34, was found dead along Sitio Ulingat street in New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City Monday night, police said.

Witness Marvin Ocheza saw Prudente’s body after hearing gunshots, according to police.

Her assailant remains unidentified.

In Manila, Rogelio Osorio, 45, was sleeping on top of a parked van in front of his house in Parola Compound, Tondo when an unidentified man shot him in the head at around 2:48 p.m.

The gunshot caught the attention of Osorio’s neighbors but they stayed in their houses until the assailant fled, according to Lt. Dennis Javier of the Manila Police District’s homicide section.

Barangay officials rushed Osorio to the Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center but he died three hours later while undergoing treatment.

Javier said there were reports that Osorio was included in the drug watchlist. – Rey Galupo
