P6.8-million shabu seized at Negros port

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Around a kilo of shabu was seized and four persons were arrested in an anti-drug operation at a port in Sibulan, Negros Oriental on Monday.

Personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Philippine Coast Guard, Negros Oriental police drug enforcement unit and Sibulan police conducted the operation after receiving reports that illegal drugs would be transported on a roll on, roll off ferry from Cebu to Dumaguete City.

Police said “high-value” drug suspect Tim Bernard Las Pinas, Ellery Jude Alabanzas, Kathleen Caryl Tulabing and Lesa Taganile were arrested.

A red Hyundai Accent, P4,000 in cash and a cellular phone were reportedly recovered from the suspects.
