MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Cebu Pacific (CEB) announced that their operations to and from Hong Kong returned to normal yesterday after protests within airport premises scaled down and more personnel reported back for work.

PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna and CEB management said they were closely monitoring the situation and assured travelers of regular updates.

Villaluna said all affected PAL passengers of cancelled flights last Monday were given three options: reaccommodation on flights to or from Hong Kong yesterday, rebooking within 30 days from the original flight date with rebooking fees waived and refund of tickets within 30 days from the original flight dates with refund fees waived.

Passengers were directed to check the status of their flights in the status page of PAL’s website or by calling their hotline.

Hong Kong visitors were also advised to remain aware of their surroundings and avoid areas where protesters may converge and carry out demonstrations.

Meanwhile, Cathay Pacific yesterday cancelled three flights: CX 912 and CX 976 from Manila to Hong Kong and CX 939 from Hong Kong to Manila.
